CCS Grade AH32 shipbuilding steel plate is a high-strength structural steel certified by the China Classification Society (CCS) for use in ships and offshore engineering. It exhibits excellent toughness, weldability, corrosion resistance and stable mechanical properties in extreme marine environments. It is widely used in ship structures such as hulls, decks and bulkheads, as well as in critical structures of offshore platforms.
Our CCS Grade AH32 shipbuilding steel plate utilises advanced TMCP (Thermomechanical Control Process) and normalising heat treatment processes, ensuring high dimensional accuracy and a uniform internal microstructure. It effectively addresses common issues associated with standard ship plates, such as poor impact resistance and unstable weldability, making it an ideal structural material for commercial vessels, cargo ships, container ships and coastal offshore engineering projects.

CCS Grade AH32 shipbuilding steel plate is a high-strength structural steel plate for shipbuilding and offshore engineering, widely used in critical structures across various shipbuilding and offshore engineering sectors:
1. Hull structures for ocean-going vessels, cargo ships, container ships and bulk carriers.
2. Support structures for offshore oil and gas platforms and marine engineering projects.
3. The manufacture of auxiliary shipboard equipment, shipping container floor plates and structural components.
4. Heavy structural components for large port machinery and offshore engineering equipment.
The products hold valid China Classification Society (CCS) factory certification, and come with complete inspection reports and certification documents.
Featuring high strength, good ductility and toughness, ensuring the long-term stable operation of ship and offshore platform structures.
Low susceptibility to welding cracks, suitable for conventional welding processes such as arc welding and gas shielded welding. The steel plates feature a flat surface and uniform thickness, with good cutting, bending and forming capabilities.
We supply CCS Grade AH32 shipbuilding steel plates in a full range of sizes, covering common thicknesses, widths and lengths. We also offer further processing services such as custom cutting, polishing and heat treatment.
A:
In the China Classification Society (CCS) rules, both AH32 and DH32 are classified as high-strength structural steels for shipbuilding (both with a yield strength of 315 MPa). The key difference between them lies in the temperature at which the impact toughness test is conducted, which directly determines their resistance to brittle fracture at different ambient temperatures.
| Performance | CCS AH32 | CCS DH32 | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yield Strength (ReH) | ≥ 315 MPa | ≥ 315 MPa | With the same yield strength. |
| Tensile Strength (Rm) | 450 - 570 MPa | 450 - 570 MPa | With the same tensile strength. |
| Elongation (A) | ≥ 22% | ≥ 22% | The same capacity for plastic deformation. |
| 冲击试验温度 | 0 °C | -20 °C | Key differences. |
| Impact Energy Requirements (KV2) | ≥ 31 J | ≥ 31 J | Toughness requirements at low temperatures. |
A:
Plates with a thickness of less than 20 mm do not require preheating. For plates thicker than 20 mm, preheating to 80–120 °C is recommended to prevent cold cracking during welding.
A:
Available delivery conditions include as-rolled, controlled-rolled, normalised and TMCP conditions. TMCP-treated steel has a lower carbon equivalent and excellent weldability.

A:
The key difference between CCS AH32 and AH36 shipbuilding steel plates lies in their yield strength grades, which directly results in differences in their mechanical properties and applications. Put simply, AH36 is a higher-strength material than AH32.
| Comparison Criteria | CCS AH32 | CCS AH36 |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum yield strength | ≥ 315 MPa | ≥ 355 MPa |
| Tensile strength | 450 - 570 MPa | 490 - 630 MPa |
| Impact energy | 31 J (at 0°C) | 34 J (at 0°C) |
| Typical Applications | General-strength sections of the hull structure, such as superstructures and bulkheads. | Critical sections subject to high stresses, such as the hull bottom, sides and decks. |
