Main Application Areas of CCS EH36 Grade Shipbuilding Steel Plates in Offshore Engineering

1. Polar and High-Latitude Transport Vessels

Polar shipping routes face year-round risks of sub-zero temperatures and ice impact, placing extremely high demands on the low-temperature fracture resistance of hull steel.

CCS EH36 shipbuilding steel plates are the material of choice for polar cargo ships, icebreakers and high-latitude fishing vessels. They effectively resist structural damage caused by ice impacts and low-temperature environments, significantly extending the service life of polar vessels.


2. Deep-sea offshore oil and gas platforms

Offshore oil and gas platforms are subjected to long-term alternating loads from waves, sea winds and tides, and must operate reliably in complex marine environments for over 20 years.

CCS EH36 shipbuilding steel plates are used to manufacture critical components such as platform support legs, deck structures and upper module bases.

In large container ships, bulk carriers and oil tankers, CCS EH36 shipbuilding steel plates are primarily used in core load-bearing areas such as the hull keel, main deck and longitudinal bulkheads.
