1. Meaning of Grade Designations

CCS A shipbuilding steel plates are the simplest to process, require no special welding skills, and are the cheapest. The higher the grade, the higher the smelting costs, the stricter the non-destructive testing requirements, and the longer the delivery lead time.

Tropical waters of Southeast Asia, Africa and South America: Select CCS A directly to reduce costs.
China’s coastal waters and temperate waters of East Asia: Prioritise CCS B.
General-purpose ocean-going vessels: Select CCS D.
