S355J0W is a weathering steel conforming to the European standard EN 10025-5. It possesses high structural strength (Yield Strength ≥355 MPa) and good low-temperature toughness (Impact Energy ≥27 J, at 0℃), along with good resistance to atmospheric corrosion.
Based on the characteristics of S355J0W weathering steel, similar steels include ASTM A588/A588M A588 Grade A/B, GB/T 4171 Q355NH, and JIS G 3114 SMA490AW/SMA490BW. In certain specific applications, these steels can be used interchangeably with S355J0W.

The strength of weathering steel plates varies with thickness. When making substitutions, the guaranteed strength values for different thicknesses must be verified.
The heat input for welding weathering steel is strictly controlled. If other grades of weathering steel are used, the corresponding welding procedures must be followed.
