Super duplex stainless steel 2507 is a high-alloy material containing 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. With a pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) greater than 40, it offers extremely high mechanical strength and excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion.

This material is widely used in offshore oil and gas platforms, seawater desalination plants, chemical heat exchangers, and shipbuilding, among other fields, and is an ideal structural material for harsh corrosive environments. The maritime and offshore engineering sector in which the company operates is precisely one of the core application areas for 2507 stainless steel.

Focus of Discussions: Technical Specifications and Supply Assurance

According to on-site reports, the discussions between the two parties centered on topics such as product specifications, technical standards, delivery lead times, and long-term supply frameworks for 2507 stainless steel.

Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim inquired in detail about the material’s corrosion resistance data in chloride environments as well as welding process requirements. Welding super duplex stainless steel requires strict control of heat input to maintain the phase balance between austenite and ferrite, which is a critical technical consideration in marine engineering applications.

Yuxin Steel briefed Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim on its supply chain resources and quality control system, as well as its extensive trading experience in the steel distribution sector, which enables it to provide professional support for the procurement and supply of specialty steels.
